2. What data we collect

In particular, we process the following categories of personal data:

1. Member data: surname, first name, contact details (address, email, telephone number) and any information provided as part of the written application for membership.
2. Event registration data: via the registration form on our website, we collect participants’ names, contact details and any further information required to hold the event in question.
3. Social media data: if you interact with our Instagram profile (e.g. by commenting, sending messages, liking or following), the data generated in the process is processed in accordance with the terms of use and data policies of Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited). We have no influence over the processing of data by Instagram and refer you to Instagram’s privacy notices.
4. Technical data: When you visit our website, certain data is collected automatically for technical reasons (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, browser type). Without your consent, we only use technically necessary storage: your choice in the cookie banner is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to us. You can change it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. We currently do not use any analysis or tracking tools such as Google Analytics.

3. Purpose of data processing

In particular, we process personal data for the following purposes:

1. administration of membership (admission, collection of membership fees, communication with members);
2. organisation and running of drives, events and gatherings in the automotive sector and related activities;
3. communication with members, participants and interested parties, including via our Instagram profile;
4. compliance with statutory obligations and obligations under our articles of association (e.g. bookkeeping).

4. Disclosure of data

We only disclose personal data where this is necessary for the purposes stated, where there is a legal obligation to do so, or where you have given your consent. Data is not passed on to third parties for advertising purposes. In connection with the use of Instagram, data is transferred to Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which may result in data being processed abroad.

5. Retention period

We process and store your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes stated or to comply with statutory retention obligations.

6. Rights of data subjects

Within the scope of applicable data protection law, you have the following rights in particular:

1. the right to information about the personal data we process;
2. the right to have inaccurate data corrected;
3. the right to have your data erased, provided no statutory retention obligation prevents this;
4. the right to restriction of processing;
5. the right to receive or transfer your data (data portability), where provided for by law;
6. the right to withdraw consent given, with effect for the future;
7. the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC).

7. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration.

8. Data processing via Instagram

Meet & Drive is present online exclusively via Instagram and its own website. Data processing by Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) is governed by Meta’s data policies, over which we have no influence. We recommend that you read Instagram’s privacy notices.

9. Google Maps and Google Tag Manager

The fonts on this website are hosted on our own server; no data is transmitted to Google for this. We embed Google Tag Manager, a tool for managing website scripts; it does not set cookies or analyse usage itself, and no analytics or advertising services currently run through it. Should we use such services in the future, this will only happen with your consent via the cookie settings. On the events page you can also display a Google Maps map of the event location; it is only loaded once you agree to “External media” in the cookie banner or click “Load map”. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Your browser loads content directly from Google servers; in particular, Google receives your IP address and technical information about your browser and may set cookies for Google Maps. A transfer to the USA is possible. We have no influence on this data processing. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.

10. Contact form, event registration and hosting

If you write to us via the contact form or register for an event, your details (e.g. name, email address, message or registration data) are transmitted to the customer portal of our website service provider Crealo KlG (Switzerland) and stored there on our behalf. The list of upcoming events on the events page is also loaded from there. To protect against spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile from Cloudflare, Inc. (USA); your IP address and technical information about your browser are transmitted to Cloudflare in order to detect automated requests. Processing in the USA is possible. Our website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Switzerland.

11. Applicable law

This privacy policy and all matters relating to the processing of personal data by Meet & Drive are governed by Swiss law, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). To the extent permitted by law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is St. Moritz.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. The current version will be published on our website.
